How to Fly at Home

Polecats Manila is an authorized distributor of X-Pole products. 
This is the brand of poles we use in our studios, and that we recommend for home use.

Silks (tricot with shine) are also available by order. Length will depend on your ceiling height. 

X-Poles use x-joints to put the poles together. Unless you have the pre-2009 version, all X-Pole sets include these parts.

A pole set can be set up from ceiling heights 7'4" - 9'. If your ceiling height is higher than 9 feet, you can get extensions up to 11'6" ceiling height.

Important Note: 
For your own safety, a maximum of 4 pole extensions can be used to set up your pole.

Measure how much you need: [Your ceiling height in meters x 2] + 2 meters should be your length. 

SRP: We will send you a quote based on your ceiling height and how much fabric you need. To give you an idea, it is Php 13,000 for a silks set for 12 feet of height. 

A silks set includes 1 swivel, 1 figure 8, 2 carabiners and silks.

POLE

1. What are the ceiling height requirements to install a pole at home?
A home pole can be set up if your ceiling height is 7’4” to 9’. If your ceiling is higher than 9 feet, you will need to get extra extensions. You need to measure your exact ceiling height to know what extension you need to get. You will also need a very solid ceiling: cement or metal is preferred.

Plywood, gypsum, Hardiflex or lowered ceilings are not recommended. It is not safe to install your pole in these types of ceilings. You can explore the option of getting an XStage Regular or Lite. 

2. What kind of finish is best for me?
The most popular finish for home use is Chrome. If you are allergic to chrome, stainless steel is a better option.

3. What kind of pole is best for me?
X-Pole offers three types of pole. X-Pole Sport is a static only pole. X-Pole Xpert is a static pole that can be converted to spinning, X-Pole Xpert Pro is a static pole convertible to spinning with a single step. These poles have diameter options and finish options. You may decide on which pole you will buy according to what tricks you like to do - if you don’t need the pole to spin, you can opt for the Sport. If you want the pole to have a spinning option, choose either the Xpert or the Pro. 

5. How long does shipping take?
For pre-ordered items, it usually gets here 6-8 weeks from when we receive your downpayment.

7. Can the pole be delivered?
For orders from Metro Manila, we can deliver for a minimum fee. If not, items may be picked up in our studio in Ortigas.

8. Do you sell X-Stages?
X-Stages are an option if your ceiling cannot take a regular pole. Yes, we have one X-Stage Regular on hand and available. You may order an X-Stage Lite if you would like to get one. 

9. Do you sell studio poles?
Yes, everything is by order, and we will need your exact ceiling height. To get a quote, kindly email myla@polecatsmanila.com.

10. What is the difference between studio poles and portable poles?
Studio poles are custom built for your studio ceiling height. They come in stainless steel finish and are made of only two long pieces. They are more durable, and a lot heavier than the regular portable home pole, since in a studio, more people use the equipment.

Portable home poles (Xpert, Sport and Xpert Pro) come in a bag and is made for home use, or if you plan to bring it around a lot.

11. I do not have an X-Pole pole, but can I buy an extension from you? 
Unfortunately, X-Pole extensions do not attach to other brands of poles, so we cannot provide this for you. 

AERIAL HOOP AND AERIAL SILKS

1. What are the ceiling requirements of having an Aerial Hoop or Aerial Silks set at home?
To have an aerial set at home, you will need a ring bolted to your ceiling to hang from. You will need a very sturdy place to either hook a carabiner or loop a spanset.

2. How do I know what size of hoop is best for me? 
Here’s how to measure what hoop size you should get: Measure yourself sitting down, from your butt to your head, and then add four [4] inches. For example, sitting height is 32” + 4” = 36” hoop. 36 in. = 914 mm. So we recommend that you the closest hoop size to this - a 900mm hoop. 

3. Should I get a single point hoop or double point hoop?
This will depend on your preference, both have different sets of tricks.

4. What is included in a hoop set?
A hoop set includes 1 swivel, 1 (or 2) spansets, 2 carabiners, the hoop, and 2 rolls of tape.

5. How long silks shall I order?
It will depend on your ceiling height. We sell silks fabric by the meter. To compute: [Your ceiling height in meters x 2] + 2 meters = Recommended length for your silks. For example, if your ceiling height is 3 meters, [3 x 2] + 2 = 8 meters of silks fabric is recommended. 

6. What is included in a silks set?
A silks set includes 1 swivel, 1 figure 8, 2 carabiners and silks.

7. How do I care for my silks?
Machine wash cold with regular detergent (no bleach, no fabric softener) then spin dry (not dryer with heat) or handwash and airdry.

8. Do you provide certificate for your hoop and silks?
We sell X-pole hoops and unbranded silks but both with load test results. No certificates are provided, but test results may be requested if necessary.

9. How safe are your carabiners, spansets, swivel and figure 8’s?
We provide Fusion brand steel oval carabiners with 23KN breaking strength, Fusion aluminum figure 8 with 45KN breaking strength, Firetoys spansets with a working load limit of 1400KG,

Swivels have different brands, Fusion, Prodigy, and GM. We prefer oval swivels with at least 30KN breaking strength.
